Number Two Ashingdon Cottages is a little house overlooking the picturesque village green at St Helens (click here to find out more about St Helens) in the eastern corner of the Isle of Wight. If you‘re intending to do some walking (and we don‘t mean just to your car), we think you‘ll find it a great base – click here to find out about walks from the door and more. And, talking of walking, the cottage is about ten minutes' walk from the beach.
Built around 1900, the terraced cottage has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard, combining traditional charm with modern convenience. Its two comfortable bedrooms have lovely outlooks: one overlooking the green, the other enjoying far-reaching views across Brading marshes to Culver Down.
The lounge, with its woodburner, provides a cosy refuge in the cooler months to watch TV, read a book or play board games and on summer evenings is often bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun. The pretty rear garden is an ideal place to sit and unwind after a long day's sightseeing, with a barbecue, perhaps, or just a glass of your favourite tipple.
The cottage offers:
• Two comfortable bedrooms – one double, and one that can either be a twin or a double (two proper zip-and-link single beds).
• Cosy lounge with woodburner.
• Centrally controlled heating in all rooms.
• Modern fitted kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Separate lobby with washer/dryer.
• Adjoining dining area with dining table and four chairs.
• Patio doors from kitchen open onto enclosed rear garden with decked area.
• Modern bathroom with bath and shower over.
• Non-smoking throughout.
